Mumbai Trans Harbour Sea Link Project is expected to be operational in January next year. Work of traffic Signage is going on and will be completed soon. Once operational this project will benefit residents of South Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.
Mumbai Trans Harbour Sea Link Project Detail and Route
Mumbai Trans Harbour Sea Link is a project designed by MMRDA to connect South Mumbai with Navi Mumbai. Due to increase in Mumbai population and keeping traffic difficulties in mind this project was designed for easy movement of the traffic.
Mumbai Trans Harbour Sea Link will benefit people of South Mumbai in Many ways. This bridge will help in easy connectivity to Navi Mumbai International Airport and Mumbai Pune expressway. This bridge will also connect to Mumbai Worli sea Link and Eastern freeway.
Mumbai Trans Harbour Sea Link will be 21.8 Kilometres in length. The bridge will have 17 kilometres of its part in Sea and 5 kilometres of its part on land. It will have 270 pillars.
Starting point of Mumbai Trans Harbour Sea Link will start from Sewri in south Mumbai where it will have an Interchange with Eastern freeway. It will enter near Ulwe in Navi Mumbai and will end at NH348. Plans are there to connect this bridge to Mumbai Pune expressway as well.
Project will cost around 18000 crore rupees and it will save travel time by 30 minutes. Bridge will be a six lane wide to fullfill future traffic demands.
Sewri Worli Connector is also planned to connect Bandra Worli sea Link and Mumbai coastal Road.
