Shamli Bypass / Shamli Ring Road Project Detail
Construction of three National Highways(NH709b, NH709AD, NH709A) is taking place in Shamli. All these highways will have bypass road which will bypass the Shamli city to facilitate easy traffic movement. Earlier traffic of these highway use to pass from inside of Shamli city which usually created traffic chaos for the traveller. It use to create life difficult for the locals of city. Shamli also has Sugar Mill due to which traffic use get worse in Sugar Mill running season. Earlier Bypass was envisioned for Delhi Yamountri Highway for Shamli city.
Three highways pass through Shamli City
- Delhi Saharanpur Highway (NH709B)
- Panipat Khatima Highway (NH709AD)
- Meerut Karnal Highway (NH709A).
These Highways were given National Highway status. When the widening work of Delhi Saharanpur Highway, Meerut Karnal Highway and Panipat Khatima National Highway was proposed. It was decided to create Bypass for Shamli city. So three Bypass were planned for these National Highways. A fourth Bypass was also proposed so that a ring road around Shamli city is formed.
These three National Highway will have their bypass and after completion of this bypass a Ring Road around Shamli city will be formed. It will have ease in vehicular movement but will also have tremendous development opportunities for Shamli. Industries might setup in future once these Highways become operational.
Delhi Saharanpur Highway Bypass of Shamli
Delhi Saharanpur Bypass starts near Balwa village and end near Sai Dham on Saharanpur road. It is around 9 KM in length. Major work of the road is completed, some part is left over Delhi Saharanpur railway line. It crosses Kudana Road, Meerut Karnal National Highway and form Cross Section with Panipat Khatima National Highway near Shamli Tehsil. It is advisable to maintain slow speed for vehicle till construction work is going on.
Meerut Karnal National Highway Bypass of Shamli
It starts at Delhi Saharanpur Highway bypass and have common route till Sai Dham. After that it has 9 Kilometres bypass which starts near Amba Vihar and ends near village Taprana on old Meerut Karnal Highway. At this junction a round about is constructed that will connect with a fourth bypass that is designed to connect Meerut Karnal Highway bypass with Panipat Khatima Highway Bypass.
Panipat Khatima National Highway Bypass of Shamli
It starts near Shamli tehsil at cross junction with Delhi Saharanpur Highway bypass. It will have same route till Balwa Village. From Balwa Village a separate 7 Kilometres bypass is constructed towards Kairana which will end near village Kandela.
A fourth Bypass is constructed to join the Meerut Karnal bypass and Panipat Khatima bypass. It will start near Kandela and ends near village Taprana. It will be around 7 Kilometres in length. Construction of these 4 bypass will form a Ring road around Shamli city which will help in growth in this area.
New Designs are in consideration to interlink this bypass so traffic can easily flow from one bypass to other.
Delhi Dehradun Economic corridor and Shamli Ambala expressway also passes through shamli. It will hugely benefit Shamli District Once these expressways become operational. It will brought Industries into the city and boost the economy. Resident will also get huge benefit as travelling to nearby cities like Dehradun, Panipat, Karnal, Meerut, Haridwar will be lot easier.
