Delhi Saharanpur Highway NH709b Project Details

Delhi Saharanpur Highway is a four Lane National Highway which is being constructed by National Highways Authority of India. Earlier this highway was under state government of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and was named as State Highway State Highway 57(SH57). It was also known as Delhi Yamountri Highway.

The road was then given a National Highway status and handed over to NHAI. It’s alignment also changed and now it starts from Akshardham temple in Delhi and End at Ambala Roorkee bypass in Saharanpur.

Delhi Saharanpur Highway starts at Akshardham temple near Delhi Meerut Expressway and move along the Pusta Road.

It passes through Geeta Colony, Shastri Park, Khajuri Khas, Karawal Nagar in Delhi.

It passes through Sabhapur, Ram park, Pavi, tronica City, Mandola Vihar, Khekra, Baghpat, Baraut, Kandhla, Shamli, Jalalabad, Nanauta, Rampur Maniharan and end at Saharanpur Bypass.

Delhi Saharanpur Highway is divided into three phases. Phase 1 is Under Construction, Phase 2 was completed in early 2021 and is operational and Phase 3 is almost Completed.

Delhi Saharanpur Highway NH709b Phase 1

Phase 1 of Delhi Saharanpur Highway Starts at Akshardham temple and end at Eastern Peripheral Expressway Baghpat Interchange.

Phase 1 is divided into two packages. Phase 1 is constructed under Delhi Dehradun Expressway, Phase 1 will have express lanes for Delhi Dehradun Expressway and service lanes for NH709b. Phase 1 has a large portion of elevated expressway.

Delhi Saharanpur Highway NH709b Phase 2

Phase 2 of NH709b starts at Eastern Peripheral Expressway Baghpat Interchange and end at starting point of Shamli Bypass. This stretch is 4 lanes with shoulders. It passes through several congested towns of western Uttar Pradesh.

This package is completed and has operational Toll plaza at Jiwana.

Delhi Saharanpur Highway NH709b Phase 3

Phase 3 of Delhi Saharanpur Highway NH709b starts near Jiwana village Gate. A bypass for Shamli village is constructed under this phase. Shamli Bypass will cross Meerut Karnal National Highway, Panipat Khatima National Highway.

Majority of road work is completed under this phase. Three bridges on Delhi Saharanpur railway line is to be constructed on this phase. Work on the Bridges is going on and will completed soon. Phase 3 of Delhi Saharanpur Highway wil end at Saharanpur Bypass of ambala roorkee highway near Chunheti.

Chunheti Devla Bypass on Yamountri Highway in Saharanpur

A new Four Lane bypass is constructed in Saharanpur for easy traffic movement for Shakumbhari Devi, Paonta Sahib and Yamountri. Soon Saharanpur will have have two bypass. First is already operational on Ambala Roorkee national highway and second is under construction for Yamountri road. This new bypass in Saharanpur will facilitate easy movement of traffic coming from ambala, Delhi, roorkee and going towards Behat, Shakumbhari Devi, Mirzapur, Paonta Sahib, Vikas Nagar, Chakrata, Yamountri Dham.
